He took the oath at 10:12 am on Wednesday (January 10) in the oath room on the ground floor of Sangsad Bhavan. Before this, the Quran is recited.

The members who won 298 seats in the 12th election entered the parliament building in the morning. They entered one by one along with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They are supposed to take oath at 10:30.

 The 12th National Parliament election was held on January 7. Out of 300 constituencies, 299 constituencies are polled. The election has been postponed due to the death of the candidate of Naogaon-2 constituency. A new schedule has been given for the election of that seat. Elections will be held on February 13. And the result of Mymensingh-3 seat was postponed due to the clash. That election will be held on 13th of this month.

 Out of 298 seats, Awami League led by Sheikh Hasina won 222 seats and Jatiya Party won 11 seats. However, the winning rate of independent candidates is higher this time. They won 62 seats. And the candidate of Workers' Party and Jasd, a partner of the grand coalition, got one seat each by choosing the boat symbol. Bangladesh Kalyan Party's Syed Mohammad Ibrahim also won from a seat in Cox's Bazar.

 The ruling Awami League is going to form the government for the fourth consecutive term after getting absolute victory.
